After Napoleon began his conquest of Europe for the second time in 1814 the other nations of Europe began to get ready to invade France but they didn’t get the chance Napoleon found out what they were planning and invaded Belgium. However Napoleon’s generals got confused at got lost didn’t under stand orders and went the wrong way and in the famous battle of Waterloo Napoleon was finally defeated. The Prussians joined the British in the afternoon and after a few hours Napoleon was forced to surrender. Napoleon was then sent to the island of Saint Helena. He never escaped unlike when he was sent to Elba and he died there at the age of 51 in the year of 1821.

When American forces finally planted the flag on the top of Mount Suribachi there was a lot of rejoicing. Why because the American had just planted their flag on one of the hardest Japanese islands that had ever been conquered.

American forces had planned to take Iwo Jima because of its important military value. From there American bombers could bomb Japanese cities and military supplies. To do this they used landing craft just like the one used on D-Day to get on to shore. The marines would have to come on to shore under heavy fire.

As the marines hit the beach nothing happened. Some marines thought that the Japanese had left Iwo Jima but in reality the Japanese where just waiting for more Americans to land so that when they did open fire the marines would have a tougher time. Indeed when the Japanese did open fire there were lots of casualties. One of the objectives of the mission was to take Mount Suribachi. After taking the base of Suribachi a patrol was sent up the the up the patrol was given a flag and were told that if they got to the top to put it up. The patrol was able to plant the flag but the second flag raising was the one where the famous picture comes from. Lt. Gen. Holland Smith ordered a new bigger flag to be raised this time a platoon went up. When they got to the top the began to plant the flag and Joe Rosenthal took a picture that would become famous. The last to Japanese to surrender on Iwo Jima was on Jan 6 1949 after surviving for four years by stealing from the American forces. The battle of Iwo Jima would become one of the most famous battles of American history and is one of the most interesting battles to learn about and I think you should try to find out more about this battle.

Beagles are my favorite type of dog since they usually enjoy being around people. They are patient and don’t have many inherited health problems. They are also small and weigh between 22-24 lb for males and 20-22 for females. They can grow up to a height of 14-16 for males and 13-15 for females.

The Beagle is a dog that hunts hare this is also known as beagling. While Beagles could not finish a hunt as fast as Harriers they would almost always catch the hare. People also don’t hunt with Beagles because of the kill, they hunt with them because of the chase. Beagles will also hunt in packs at times and will usually hunt very close (sometimes close enough to cover all of them with a sheet).

Beagles are also lazy. Enjoying to lie around and sleep in the sun or on a pillow or couch. And sorry I do not have a picture of my dog Lighting being lazy even though he does enjoy being lazy. Because the one time I could get a picture my little sisters got for just long enough for him to bring his head up before I could take the picture. If possible I may update the post with a picture of him being lazy if I can get it.

So now I will tell you about my dog. Lighting was born on February 26 2017 at are preachers house. He had four brothers and one sister. When we heard about the dogs I didn’t think much about them I was the only kid in are family who had lived with dogs but I was very little so a don’t remember them and while I did like dogs I never thought I would have one again. But my sister wanted to go see them so we went and looked at them. My sister wanted one and my parents said they would think about it. Next week we took a dog named Lighting home ( they called him that because he had a patch of white fur on his back that looked like a lighting bolt). He was barking most of the ride home but when we got home he began to explore. He very soon adjusted to living with us. He did have to get used to other kids coming over to play and some of them were scared of him since he would bark and jump on them. But he stopped it after we punished him for doing it. Lightning also had other dogs to play with if he couldn’t play with us (these dogs names are one’s we or other kids in the neighbor hood gave them except one). Some of these dogs names are Boa, Tucker, and Oreo.

One of the funnest things that ever happened with Lightning was when my dad went outside to go to our shed. When he got inside Lightning began to bark at something. My dad soon found out that it was a snake and as soon as Lightning knew that Daddy knew it was there he ran away. Once my dad killed it though he came back and began to bark at it again.

That is Lightning’s story so far nothing has happened with him that is notable. But he has been a very good dog even if he sometimes gets into trouble.

The Maya’s were a native Central American tribe that was very prominent in Central America but then vanished with no record of what happened to them. Today I will give a short summary on this tribe.

The Mayans fought wars for quite a few reason such as getting captives, control of trade routes, and to get tribute. For weapons they used the atlatl or spear thrower this did just what it sounds like it would. It would help a thrower throw a spear farther then someone with out one. Common people would use the blowgun and the bow and arrow was also used though it wasn’t used as much do to warriors favoring other weapons.

Trade was also important. Cities that where large usually had trade routes in them. Traders would bring goods along these routes including salt, slaves, and cacao. These routes were also used by people trying to get to another city.

The Mayans controlled lots of land there territory went all the way up to Southeastern Mexico and then down to the to Northern part of central America.

Napoleon was born in 1769 on the island of Corsica. This island was near Italy but was owned by the French. He later joined the military and quickly rose from being a captain to becoming major and then a general. Once the Directory ( A five man form of government) was in power he became the second in command of the entire French army. At the time he was only 26 years old. However not everybody liked him and so the Directory sent him to Egypt so he would be as much of a threat. That didn’t work long since his troops were struggling to survive in the heat and desert winds he abandoned his men so he could go back to France. Then in 1799 He started a coup against the Directory. This ended up with him in power and with him becoming the first Consul. But of even that wasn’t enough so he crowned himself Emperor. No one complained in France about it they liked Napoleon. His military victories help a lot with that for example in 1805 at the battle of Austerlitz he fired so much cannon fire into the Austrian and Russian troops that out of 87,000 soldiers 15,000 died and another 12,000 were wounded. Napoleon also wrote the Civil Code which gave religious freedom, ended serfdom, and gave equal writes to all people except himself.

Catherine II better known as Catherine the Great was one of the most prominent rulers in Russian history. She had many accomplishments. Some of them are listed here. Just like Peter the Great she wanted Russia to become more European. To do this she brought in architects, craftsmen, and scholars. She also brought European agriculture machines to Russia to help with farming.

While it may seem that Catherine the Great’s reign was good, it also was just as bad. A good example is how she treated the peasants and serfs. She wiped out multiple uprisings and did it brutally. So while She did some to help the peasant, she was usuall very bad toward the peasants and serfs of Russia.

So what do you think of Catherine the Great? Did her good quailites out way her bad?

Halo Wars 2 is the second Halo game that is a RTS game. So how does it hold up to the other games in the franchise? I will give you my opinion today.

Halo Wars 2 takes place 28 years after the first game with the crew of the Spirit of Fire waking up from cryo sleep after being adrift in space for 28 years. They are in orbit above a Forerunner installation called the Ark when the get a distress signal. The Captain of the Spirit of Fire send three Spartans named Jerome, Douglas, and Alice to the Ark to investigate. When they get to the beacon they find a AI named Isabel who helped the humans on the Ark research it. She then tells the Spartans that they need to get out of this place. However the Spartans keep investigating only to be ambushed by a Brute. Douglas is injured but once they get to the warthog they are surrounded by Brutes and Elites. Jerome calls in Archer Missiles on there position. During the escape Alice hold of the rest of the enemies while Jerome and Douglas escape. Alice then escapes and go’s to find troops who have been captured. Isabel tells Captain Cutter that the Brutes and Elites are part of the group called the Banished and that the Brute that injured Douglas was there leader.

I will not tell any more of the story since that will be for you to find out.

Over all the story isn’t the best Halo story and it is pretty short with only twelve mission unless you buy the DLC but it isn’t the worst campaign ever. The graphics are amazing but the best part is the cutscences. With maybe the best graphics I have ever seen. The game has lots of multiplayer modes. Including Blitz which is a mode where you control the points and play cards of which unit you want. The game as custom matches as well where you can play against the AI. Custom matches all so allow you to use skulls which will do different thing depending on which one you activate. Over all I think Halo Wars 2 is a good game and worth getting.

Lately I have been getting a lot of spam. I don’t know why, but I decided to tell everyone because of how crazy they are. I think everyone’s going to like this.

The dumbest one is a comment on my post about the Fall of the Roman Empire. He wrote ” Good article. I am dealing with a few of these issues as well..” How does that make sense on a post about the Roman empire? I don’t know. I suspect it was a automated comment trying to get you to go to their site. To make things even less like a human being the comment as a link before his spam to his website.

The next one is not as crazy, still shows how bad automated comments are. This guy also put a link in his before he told put down the rest of the comment. He said “It’s not my first time to visit this site, i am visiting this web page daily and get good
facts from here every day.” The problem is that I don’t post daily and sometimes don’t for a week.

Then theirs the person who wanted to write on my blog, yes someone asked to write on my blog, and just like the last two they also put a link to there website before writing there comment. ” My spouse and I absolutely love your blog and find nearly all of your post’s to be just what I’m

In the September of 1914 the Russian fortress of Osowiec was attacked by 40 infantry battalions of the German 8 army. This was the beginning of what would later come to one of the oddest stories of the 1st World War.

Later on the 3 of February the Germans launched another attack on the fortress. The Russians first line of shallow trenches held for 5 days but was finally broken. The Russians then fell back to the second line of defense with deeper trenches and machine gun emplacements. After the fall of the first line the Germans had been able to fire on the fort using artillery. The Russian Central Command thought the fortress would fall. So they ordered the fortress to hold out for 2 more days while civilians were evacuated but the fortress still held out till August.

Now here come the strange part of the story. In July the Germans attacked in force against the defenders. One of the units they brought in were 30 batteries of artillery with poison gas. On the 6 of August the Germans launched this gas into the air. After the attack the Germans sent the 11th Landwehr Division of 7000 men to capture the fortress. They didn’t expect too much resistance but when they made it to the second line of defense they were met by 60-100 Russians of the 13th Company of the Russian 226th Infantry Regiment. The German panicked since the Russians were bloody and coughing up blood and even some of there lungs due to the poison gas. The Germans retreated and as they did the five remaining Russian artillery guns opened fire on them. That is why this battle was known as the Attack of the Dead men.

When the 2015 Star Wars Battlefront came out many people didn’t like it as much as the old 2005 Star Wars Battlefront 2 the reason, because it didn’t have a campaign and because it didn’t have Clone Wars or even the new trilogy. So in 2017 Dice and EA launched Star Wars Battlefront 2 which had Clone Wars and new trilogy plus new maps for the old trilogy. But they’re was still some problems for example there were only three Clone Wars maps and only two Clone Wars heroes. There was also the problem of micro-transactions. Now for those who don’t know what I am talking about a micro-transaction is possibility that instead of earning your way to get new guns or something else you just pay for it. This is a big problem with games now since players who aren’t good can just get a really good weapon or some other advantage. Of course there is sometime that this is okay for example if you get the deluxe edition then you should get something or if you are just getting skins emotes and other things that don’t affect game play.

Game play is very good the new class system is amazing as you can just switch between wanting a sniper to having a heavy. There are four trooper classes they are the assault who is just a normal soldiers, heavy who is slow but has lots of health and has a heavy weapon, officer is a support unit can boost allies health can place turrets and throw flash bangs, and the specialist who is a sniper can use binoculars to see enemies and throw a stun grenade plus using a close quarters weapon.

If you want a offline game Battlefront 2 while having a short campaign and only a few arcade modes is very fun and even better Dice has said that a new large scale offline mode is coming to Battlefront 2 either in July or August.

Multiplayer though is where Battlefront 2 really becomes fun. The two main modes are Capitol Supremacy and Galactic Assault. Capitol Supremacy was released a few months ago with it becoming a very popular mode and possibly even becoming more popular then Galactic Assault. The purpose of the mode is to capture command post and to then board some transports and finally to get onto the enemies capitol ship and then destroy it. Galactic Assault is to where you fight to what is supposed to be reliving battles from the movies.

So over all I think Battlefront 2 is a great game and while it did have a rocky start it now is very good game and to make sure you don’t get bored Dice is still adding thing to this game.
