Now the rules for this is you can use only one thing from your house any thing else you need to find like in the wild.

I would use a battery powered lamp beside the ability to light places up I would cover part of it in wood and if possible in iron if I could mine or find some. After covering it in wood I would use it like a weapon. If I could get some iron I would make a spike with it to make it more deadly, iron would be what I would want for a spike but wood would work to. The only problem would be that when the battery life ended I would have no more light. So after that I would use it like a torch by building a small circle then but some sticks in it to use like a torch. I could also use it to cook something on that I killed.

Here is a story I made up where I use this item. Also this story is fiction.

I had been left in the desert by a tribe of natives sitting there wondering what on earth to do I remembered that I had grabbed something from the house and had lade it under a tree only a few minutes ago. I began to look around and seeing some thing under a tree that looked like something from a house a ran forward and found a battery powered lamp of all things i had for some reason grabbed this thing that right then seemed would never work in the wild. Then I had a idea I began to look for wood and after finding some I began to cover the lamp in it. After a long time I had it covered in wood. I then began to look for a piece of wood that was jagged so that I could try and cut some of luckily after cutting two pieces of wood I was able to make the spike and I thought I should hunt for food but it was to dark then I realized I could use the light of the lamp while it still had battery to see in the dark. I was able to do that and after making a fire had a good dinner. The next day I began to walk toward the way the I had come (as there was a small town a few miles from the natives village) and soon after three days of walking I made it back to the town and survived a very dangerous place.

The third Punic war began in 149 BC and lasted intill 146 BC. The entire war was nearly just Carthage defending its self and as Rome’s rath fell on Carthage in full force the city could do nearly nothing.

So the way this war started was that as Carthage slowly recovered after the second Punic war (which it lost) Rome thought it neaded to just be destroyed and not punished. A famous Roman senator named Cato the Elder ended every speech with “Furthermore it is my opinion that Carthage must be destroyed” and he said that even if the speech had nothing to do with Carthage. Now there where some reasons for Rome to get mad at Carthage not just because they thought they should destroy the city but Carthage broke a treaty when in 151 BC Numidia attacked Carthage and Carthage won. How Carthage broke a treaty was that it raised a army to defend itself .This was not allowed by the treaty after the second Punic war and so Rome attacked Carthage in 149 BC. Carthage tried to get Rome to make peace but Rome wouldn’t listen and in 146 BC Carthage fell. The city of Carthage was destroyed entirely and salt was poured on the ground so crops wouldn’t grow well there. This would seem like the end of Carthage and it was for the original Carthage but Julius Caesar rebuilt Carthage in to a Roman city. The city was of course under Roman control but it was soon after that the main political and trading hub of Roman Africa.

The city of Carthage has had a lot of things happen in its short life time it rose to be the most powerful nation in the Medirtan and in fell just as quickly as it rose.

If I could live anywhere I would live in Minas Tirith from The Lord of the Rings by J.R.R. Tolkien. The reason I would live there is because I would be a soldier of Gondor and fight orcs. Minas Tirith has seven levels that each have a wall defending them. There is a road that goes up thourgh. There are seven gates, one in each wall but the gates are not in one line they or placed in random spots in the walls. This helps when enemies attack. At the top of the city is a tower that goes right up in the air and is where the king would live. The city without the wall is huge and with seven levels it looks even more amazing. The entire city is built out of stone. Here is some facts on Minas Tirith: The city was called Minas Arnor Which means tower of the sun, the name Minas Tirith means tower of the guard, it had a sister city called Minas Ithel before Ithel was taken over by orcs and the Nazgul after the Ithel was taken over it was named Minas Morgel which means tower of sorcery, and finally Minas Tirith was the sight of a major battle between the Mordor and Gondor and Rohn.

The Roman military was the greatest army in the ancient world. Since this is the greatest army back then lets see how it was organized. The main part of the army was made up of the legion. A legion had 4200 soldiers and had four different types of soldiers. Soldiers were also divided into maniples which had 120 soldiers each and where organized by experience. Now this type of legion is called a old legion because it was used in early Rome. The new legion was used later but before I can tell you about that I need to tell you about Commander Marius who reorganized the army. Marius reorganized the army in 100 B.C. he had lots of major reforms some of his reforms are: every citizens could join the army instead of just landowning ones, he raised the amount of money paid to soldiers, he made the army a standing one, he also made it to where if you were poor you still got the same training as the rich soldiers.

Now we will look at a new legion.A new legion had 5000 soldiers instead of 4200 soldiers but instead of maniples they had the century. a legion also had its less trained soldiers or auxila who where not citizens but could earn their citizenship after their army service was over. A legion also had a standard which included a golden eagle. The standard was the legions most prized object and they would never let it fall into enemy hands.

Now we will look at the century. The century was the main unit of the army and had 100 men. There were four men that were the most important they were: the Centurion who was the leader, the Optio who was the second in command, the Signifer who carried the flag of the century into battle, and the Tesserarius who had all the century’s passwords.

That is all for the army it was my favorite lesson this week and I hope that I will be taught about some of the battles that the Roman army fought.

On January 23rd a new update comes out for Star Wars Battlefront 2.Count Dooku comes out as well as well as a new clone trooper appearance (the Corusant Guard )And for any of you play a lot of arcade and blast and you didn’t like that you can’t play Geonosis in those mode well in this update Geonosis come to arcade and blast.Then the next month we get Anakin Skywalker with a appearance and the 501 legion appearance comes out. Finally maybe the biggest new ever for Star wars Battlefront 2 the new mode where you capture command post and take down capital ships. That is all for now will let you guys know about any more new.

Count Dooku has been released for Star Wars Battlefront 2. He is the best hero at blocking lightsabers. The clone skin we where going to get was pushed back to the February update with the 501 clone skin were are getting. The clone skins are getting redone to look like troopers from their divesens. Plus we get Anakin Skywalker. Sadly while this is great news we have a problem the new large scale game mode is coming out in March instead of February as the develepers at DICE want to have the quality of the new game mode to be high. But even though it will come later we do get new reinforcements for the clone and for the droids. These new reinforcements do not come for any other era.

Mr. Fogg is a gentleman from London England he goes to a club every day and has a routine that he all ways follows. He never goes out of the routine at all except for once which is what this story is about. Passpartout is Mr. Fogg’s new servant “after he fired is other servant for not getting Mr. Fogg’s shaving cream at the wrong temperature”. Passpartout comes just in time to see Mr. Fogg leave his house. While Passpartout gets used to the house Mr. Fogg finds out that you make it around the world in eighty days. He’s friends don’t believe that it’s true and Mr. Fogg says he will make it around the world in eighty-days and he would prove it and right then and there Mr. Fogg leaves his club and goes home. Passpartout is surprised to see he’s master back at his house long before he should be there Mr. Fogg tells him to get ready fast because there are going around the world in eighty-days. They are soon ready to go and set out to go to Europe. However they don’t know that a detective named Fix is following them. Fix things that Mr. Fogg is a thieve that stole hundreds of pounds from a large bank in England and he’s sure that he can arrest Mr. Fogg. Meanwhile Mr. Fogg is in India and is headed to Calcutta the capital of India. While on the train to Calcutta the train stops and they find out that the train rails don’t go to all the way to Calcutta and they will need to find some other transport to get there. They do find a way of transport but it’s a little odd there going to travel by elephant the rest of the way. While on the way they run into a funeral for a Indian noble who has died at the back of the parade the noble wife is led to be killed so she can follow him to the after life. Well Mr. Fogg and Passpartout of course are mad after they find out and decide to save her since they do have a little time. Mr. Fogg and a British general who is Mr. Fogg friend go to watch the funeral while they are there the dead noble rises from the pile of sticks that has been set on fire, picks up his wife and runs out of the building with Mr. Fogg and the general following him and it turns out that Passpartout was disguised as the dead noble. When they get back to the elephant they find out that the nobles wife’s name is Aouda. They don’t know what to do with her now but she tells them that she has a uncle in Hong Kong and she can go to them well Hong Kong is on the way for Mr. Fogg so the decide that she will come with them. Now we need to go back a little bit because there is something that Passpartout did that to the customs of the Indians living there is a bad thing now what was this offence well Passpartout had tried to enter a temple and had not taken his shoes of and the priest tried to get him to well Passportout didn’t like that and so tried to fight them. That was a bad idea not just because he lost his shoes but because it caused some problems with Fix who is waiting for his papers to arrive to arrest Mr. Fogg and he thinks this is the perfect time to delay him so he can arrest him. Mr. Fogg is now heading to go to a ship that will take him to Hong Kong when a police man comes and ask if he is Mr. Fogg. Mr. Fogg tells the police man that he is Mr. Fogg and the police man tell him to come with him and they go to court where they are told they will have to stay a week in prison and that he is on bale and Mr. Fogg says he will pay the bale. Because Mr. Fogg payed the bale they make it to the ship on time and head for Hong Kong. Now Fix is not happy he now has to follow them and he has to send his arrest papers to Hong Kong. He gets to the ship Mr. Fogg is on and leaves with them. When Mr. Fogg and his party get to Hong Kong but there is not a ship ready to go to the United States so they start to look around Passpartout go to a tavern and Fix follows him and sits down to talk with him and Fix tell Passpartout that he thinks that Mr. Fogg is a thieve and Passpartout needs to help him arrest Mr. Fogg. Passpartout says gets mad at Fix and says Mr. Fogg is a honest man and would not do that. Fix needs Mr. Fogg to stay in Hong Kong so he buys Passpartout more beer and get him drunk so that Passpartout will miss the boat and hopefully for Fix Mr. Fogg will miss the boat trying to look for Passpartout. But Mr. Fogg leaves with out Passpartout thinking that he will follow them to the United States. When Passpartout wakes up he go’s to get on the ship but he doesn’t makes it. Passpartout is wondering what to do when he finds a circus act “where men use the noses to stand one each other” that’s going to the United States. Passpartout sign’s up and they head for the United States. In there first act Passpartout see’s Mr. Fogg and Aoude in the crowed and breaks the act by running to him. After that they head to New York and get on a train to get though the Great Plains. While on the way Mr. Fogg gets in to a fight with a army officer and they decide to do a dual on the train. Just as they were about to start the train is attacked by Indians! The Indians take over the engine car and start to stop the train when Passpartout climbs under the train and keeps the train going. When the Indians are finally driven of they find out that Passpartout is missing and Mr. Fogg decides to go out and look for him. He gets Fix” who is now acting like Mr. Fogg’s Friend and is some what is” to stay with Aoude while he go to look for Passpartout with the army officer. He says that he will get to the station as fast as he can when he finds Passpartout. Mr Fogg first looks for the Indians camp when he finds it he sneaks into their camp and gets Passpartout. They do get back to the station in time and continue their journey. When the get to New York the board a ship which will take them to Liverpool England where he will then go to London. But there is a problem Fix can arrest Mr. Fogg when he gets to England. When they get there that’s just what Fix does he arrest Mr. Fogg and puts him in prison but after spending a day there Mr. Fogg is freed after Fix found out that the real thieve had been caught two days before. Mr. Fogg goes as fast as he can to London but get there only five minutes late. Mr. Fogg is devastated and goes to his room and looks to see what he has lost. Aoude later goes to his room and after talking Aoude ask Mr. Fogg to marry her. When Passpartout goes to the church to get things ready he finds out that it’s Saturday and that the next day is Sunday”because they went to India the got a one more day” so that they only have a few minutes to get to Mr. Fogg’s club so he can win his bet well after paying a carriage to get him there as fast has he can and that Mr. Fogg will pay him double if he gets them there as fast as possible they get there only seconds before the deadline. After that Mr. Fogg and everyone else live happily for the rest of there lives.

Peter from the Railway children is my favorite of my English classes characters who I have learned about. Peter is a boy around the age of 10. He is adventures and as a small temper. He is the only boy in his family and so he some times get annoyed with his sisters. He and his sisters lived in a house in London but one night there father left and their mom will not tell them what happened. A little while later the moved out to the country and see train go by almost every day. Peter says he wants to become a conductor when he grows up. They later save a train when they find out that some track have been broken. Their father does come back and after that the live happily but still it is unknown what happened after that maybe Peter did be come a conductor. The reason I like Peter is because he’s adventures and he is a little more serous then his sisters.

The Roman games are very interesting too me as it is fascinating to know that a culture watched people get killed by animals or other people for fun. The games started when the Roman king Lucius Tarquinius Priscus built the Circus Maximus where chariot and horse races were held. After that the Coliseum was built, and this was where the most well known games took place. The games held in the Coliseum were the games where gladiators fought and hunted wild animals.

The games in the Coliseum were split into two parts the morning games and the afternoon games. The morning games were where gladiators would fight wild animals or wild animals would kill a criminal instead. The afternoon games were the games most people know about, the fight of two gladiators to the death. There were four main types of gladiator but 25 in all. The four main types are: Samnite, Thracian, Retiarius, and the Murmillo.

The Samnite had a short sword, a shield, and a helmet.

The Tharacian had a short curved sword, a helmet, armour down one arm and a small shield.

The Retiarius (which means net-man in Latin) had a net, trident, dagger, and a arm guard.

The Murmillo had a large shield, a short sword, and a arm guard.

A lot of money was spent on the games that should have been spent on the army or the building of better homes and other buildings. That is all about the Roman games.
